1911 Torpedo Runabout

Post by TrentB » Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:55 pm

1911 Model T Enclosed Runabout (Torpedo) for sale. The car is a June 1911 Model T with a Wilson body (as opposed to a Beaudette). It was restored about 25 years ago and it is painted a dark Mercedes blue.  It has all white tires front and rear.   The car was restored according to the original shipping record obtained from the Benson Ford Research Center.  The car is equipped with E&J lights and a Heinze coil box.

I have always thought of a restored Model T as something of a work in progress, because finding all of the correct parts at the beginning of the project is almost impossible.  So over the years I have continued to collect addition authentic parts.  Last year I obtained an authentic reproduction torpedo floor mat that RV Anderson produced.  I also have a correct exhaust manifold which is bored for the exhaust pipe to fit into, as opposed to machined taper.

The car is tour ready and very reliable. The 1911 torpedo runabout is a unique and desirable Model T. Priced at $35,900.

Hi Trent, That is a really nice car..... I'm surprised no one has responded yet. Well, it is so nice, and no doubt you have a copy of that original shipping document with all the correct details. That type car is the stuff that dreams are made of. If only....... Someone is going to get a great Model T!!!

Cheers, Keith

If it is, I'd sure like to know what he does for a living!
