Fender mounting hardware

Post by browning » Thu Jan 23, 2025 4:32 pm

I am considering replacing the fenders etc. on my 1919 Roadster with new and hate to strip the mounting hardware from the existing parts since they are in pretty good shape (no rust) and could be used by others if unmolested. Is there a place where replacement mounting hardware can be purchased, new or used. I don't think I have ever seen it advertised.

Did you mean the fender brackets? If you did I don’t think the new T fenders that are available have the fender mounting brackets that are rivited on.
Since they don’t have the brackets you will need to remove your old ones and remount them on the new fenders. That’s what T owners do when they buy a new fender.

And yes no one reproduces the fender brackets. Or at least they didn’t use to. Just because they are rusted up people will buy the brackets. In some places they are hard to come by.

no repro's except for brass-era
eBay, forum, Facebook for parts or used trash fenders
Could find someone to trade
Red circled hard to find
Yellow circled much easier

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

Put in a WTB for fender mounting brackets.
Parts sellers have junkie fenders that are only good for the mounting plates.

FYI, Sacramento Vintage Ford has them for the 13-16 fenders. They're backordered at present, but they told me they should have them in 2-3 weeks. Noel

You might call Lang’s. They have a supply of good and NOS T parts. The top fender brackets are the same for L and R. But the corner brackets aren’t. They have to be L or R.

The top fender brackets with which I am familiar are left and right. The mounting holes in the fenders may be the same pattern, but one of the brackets would need to be rotated to align with the holes, putting the mounting slot either in front or behind the frame iron.
