National Motor Camp
Is anyone going to the National Motor Camp at South Lake Tahoe in July? I am going to be there and hope to meet a bunch of new friends. Dennis

I had not yet heard about this. Need more details. Not far from me and I would love this stuff, but I don't know yet if I can get away for it or not.

Re: National Motor Camp
Linus has been doing this antique camping event for a few years. I wanted to go when it was at Nathanael Logsdon's place in southern Indiana in 2023, but I got diverted into my series of hospitals and rehab centers. At this point camping is a pleasant memory for me.

Re: National Motor Camp
I am a little behind in getting any info onto the forum for this event.
National motor camp is July 17-22 and revolves around Lake Tahoe.
We have reserved space at Tahoe valley campground and Jenkins on lake. The main event is on the weekend and then we have what we are calling Gypsy camp after which was meant to be a moving camp but has changed more into just a less formal camp. With the right group of people I think this event can be extended Rand include proper moving auto camping of that is something people want.
If anyone is interested send me an DM and I will get you the link to register.
The idea here is all period equipment including all your camp and your car and your gear. Time period is primarily 20s but anything prewar will usually be fine.
Things outshone national motor camp and we hope that it can become a regular event. So get your house cars out and your kampkook white gas stoves and get registered.

Re: National Motor Camp
It's the same weekend as the Long Beach Model T Club swapmeet, but I'm going to try to make it to the gypsy camp post-Tahoe.

The camp is coming soon, I am wondering who is going so that I can look for you. I will be showing up on the 16th and be there for the whole time. I am really looking forward to it. Dennis

Re: National Motor Camp
If it's anything like 2 years ago it will be an event that you will not want to miss in the future. Much like the scvmtfca endurance run was. Something that became so popular people would build cars just for the event and eventually create their own spin off events. It would be awesome to have various clubs doing their own motorcamp events all over the nation. Unfortunately this one like the endurance run is just too far away.

Sounds like luck wasn't enough, I just heard that Patrick broke his crank and they both decided to call it quits, sorry to hear that.

Re: National Motor Camp
Linus is very much into vintage motor camping. Maybe he will post pictures of the event.
