PSA 26/27 WIRE WHEEL LUG NUTS (UPDATE)!

Post by Mark Chaffin » Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:41 pm

We are in the final stages of producing a limited run (100 Sets) of correct 26/27 Wire Wheel Lug Nut sets. Each set will be 20 pieces each and made exactly as Ford manufactured them. Including the polished Cadmium plating. Previous offerings were close but not perfect. Past retail was $129.95 when last manufactured by other vendors.

Material is 4130 and heat treated to 30-35 Rockwell. Brass plated followed by Cadmium. No more bottoming out due to inadequate thread depth. No more pulled nut threads. Satisfaction is guaranteed.

Price per set will be $89.95. No quantity restrictions. Place your pre-orders now by sending your name, address and telephone number to us at:

chaffinsgarage@pacbell.net

Please, no phone calls regarding this item availability. All pre-orders by email will ONLY be accepted at this time.

Thank you

These look real nice and it’s been a long time since good ones have been available; but are they really going to be sets of 20 as your ad says or did you mean to say 23 ? I think most people who want really good looking correct wheel nuts on their car are going to want the 3 on the spare wheel to match too…

What's the status of these I ordered 3 sets (20 pieces in a set) plus 6 additional lug nuts and 3 lock nuts. Sent 1st email 21 Jan, plus some additional emails & no RSVP.

Yes. The Cadmium plating company is backed up and we have to wait our turn. I was told today they should be finished soon and shipped by next week. Thanks for your patience.

Mark, cadmium plating of fasteners has almost universally banned due to toxicity and environmental issues. I would have thought California would be right at the head of this ban. There are alternatives, and looking at the samples you show, the platers are using one of these, for much better results. Perhaps this is the reason for the delay.

Yes. You are correct. Cadmium plating has been banned in Califunny. Because these were to be made "to the print", Cadmium plating was non-negotiable. We were fortunate to find a source willing to do it. It's a secret. :)

just FYI, cad is still specified for many mil-spec fasteners, so it is still being done by some companies.

Ain't it marvelous what a Government agency can do that is denied to us for our own good. Cad plating has some advantages in certain applications, but its widespread use led to its restriction for the general public.
