118 years ago tonight, at 10 pm, Frank Kulick set off in a Ford Six (Model K) on a 24 hour race. He and Ford were not the headliners or favorites. In 24 hours they would turn the motor racing world upside down.

You always post the most interesting stuff. The state fairgrounds located at 8 mile and Woodward, track still used for cars and horses in 1960s. Carl

Thank you Carl. Wish it was still there. Many key racing events involving Henry Ford and Frank Kulick occurred there. The 24 hour win in 07, Frank Kulick’s record attempt and near fatality in Oct 07, and Ford and Kulick’s victory over the Blitzen Benz in September 1911 are major examples.
