Otis

Post by Dan jensen » Mon Aug 04, 2025 8:46 pm

I went to the 50th annual car show and swap meet at Watson Lake this past weekend. Otis was there living the good life in Prescott AZ. Bryan Ostergren bought it in Conroe Texas. Does anyone know where it was before that?

John Mays owned it. I think he acquired “Otis” in 2014.

“Otis” was at one time a touring car. I think he’s probably happier as a truck.

Thanks for posting the picture, Dan.
I bought Otis from John Mays, as Will pointed out, in the spring of 2017. John had acquired it from another collector and, perhaps foolishly, I didn't get any details from him. Otis did come with a pair of very rusty 1914 New York license plates, so he might have resided in New York state at one time. Googling "Shepp's Fix-it Shop" is a dead end. Surprise! There is lettering on the door and faintly under "Shepp's" for the "Eastside Second Hand Store" and also partially legible lettering for somebody's brake and tire service, which fits with the remains of the Pure Oil Company decal. So, wherever Otis has lived, he's certainly been around the block a few times.
