Seat upgrade - not about era correct, just comfort

I know I will get some flack for this thread.... or maybe I wont?

Here is my current seat setup:

It doesn't really do much for comfort or an second passenger.
I would like to put a tufted, leather seat in place of this, just unsure if there is anything out there that would fit (aside from having one made).
love the look of the them...

I'd certainly do it. If someone complains, have them ride in the back.

are the widths pretty close between the Model-T's models / variants out there?

Just be sure your new seat allows a comfortable driving position. The most logical place according to existing timberwork/body frame may not deliver a comfortable drive.

yes, I know what you mean... the height of the bottom springs might be an issue.
might require an oval gas tank to reduce the height. I know I know.... this starting down a path of one project leads to another one and before you know, nothing looks the same as it used to. I gotta find that line in the sand on anything I "think" I should do. I appreciate the comment!

How about a period correct seat which is possibly one of the most comfortable of any Model T.
My Kamper has an exact copy of the original Lamsteed Kampcar front seats, these seats immediately get a comment on how comfortable they are when anyone sits in the car..
My wife and I did over 10,000 miles in the USA sometimes travelling over 300 miles in a day, never had any iissues with the seats.

Each front seat has a back rest kind of similar to your set up but it has one center spring steel support. When you lean up against it is moves away from you a bit as you drive your back moves with the motion of the back moving forward and back.
I had the steel brackets made at a spring factory when they reset my springs the guy gave me two lengths of flat steel I took them home bent them to the shape and drilled holes, took them back and they tempered them.
Your seat appears to be too low with not enough height and padding and the seat frame looks good in height and position if the gas tank is underneath.

Here is a photo showing the seat backs, they are made to pull out when the seats turn into beds, you just need to fix them as you have done with your seat back now.

Should have also mentioned the seat back is adjustable also.
You can see two wing nuts at the back of the seat back.
There are six holes so you can raise or lower the seat back to the best one to suit your comfort to 3 positions.
The back also has a curve to it.

When I built my 1917 shooting brake I also made the backrest adjustable for rake, having learned from my 1912 van build It only has 4 positions ranging just 3". When I installed it I set it in one of the mid points, and have yet to shift it!
