Lesson #1: You cannot remove the steering shaft from a 1925 touring with the top up.
Lesson #2: You do not need to go to the trouble of putting the top down when installing the new steering shaft due to the now conveniently placed hole.

Well, it's directly over the back seat so the only people that are going to notice it are semi-truck drivers, so I'm not too bent out of shape about it; I try to avoid roads with too many semi's.
The top is in somewhat questionable shape anyway so it's time to start shopping for a new top . . .
