Bool Hub Caps

Post by Ken Buhler » Sun Jan 25, 2026 5:03 pm

These Novelty Imposter Hub Caps were produced to get around patent protection. At a casual glance they looked like Ford caps. The small one fits Model A , 2 3/4 hole and the larger one fits later, 3 3/4 hole. The large one is dent free and the small one has a very tiny dent. $25 each or $50 for both. How's that math? If that's outrageous, we can keyboard wrestle. Plus the mail.

The one on left is for a 1930-31 Model A, and one on left fits 1928-29 Model A. Have seen them over the years and always made a chuckle.

Back in the day when scrounging old model t dealerships was fun and often still finding NOS parts.

My dad and I were in eastern Washington looking for old Ford dealerships. In Washtukna we found an old dealership that long ago had stopped selling new cars and just did general repair.

In the basement were all the left over model t and A parts on shelves. Lots of stuff was still in the original boxes. We were so busy hauling the parts up the stairs into our truck we did not stop to actually read what the boxes ,we just hauled parts.

When we got home and started to unpack and inventory our new loot. We found a box of new 26/27 nickel hub caps. I nice find and nos. The joke was on us, they were nos and perfect with the script spelling out BOOL!!!!!

Until this posting showing 2 Bool hub caps I have never seen any others.
