Bosch points needed

Post by goshencars » Thu Jul 25, 2019 9:02 am

I have an old Bosch distributor on my 20 T. I believe it is the 600 series. I am looking for a set of points and condenser for it. The condenser is kidney shaped with a stud that goes thru the wall of the distributor to hold it in place. If anyone knows what the part numbers are and where I can purchase them I would appreciate it. Thanks

The points are around and show up from time to time but are very pricy. The solution is to remove the present points and cond., have someone that is good as a machinist to drill and tap holes in the old plate for a set of 70s Ply points and cond. They are cheap and plentiful. Also, you can always dress the existing points with a stone.

I have some “rivet” tungsten contacts. These are just the contacts themselves and you would have to install them to your existing breaker assembly

If the kidney condenser is not available you can simply wire another condenser outside of the distributor, it does not have to be IN the distributor, just lengthen the wire and make sure the body of the condenser has good ground contact.
When in trouble, do not fear, blame the second engineer ! 8-)
