How to NOT post photos sideways

Post by Steve Jelf » Fri Sep 27, 2019 11:00 am

Sometimes a photo will appear sideways or even upside down when posted on the forum. In my experience it's pictures shot in a vertical format which suffer that fate. I don't know if this works on everybody's equipment, but I find that if I rotate the photo 90º left and then back 90º right before posting it shows up correctly in Preview and posting. I do this now with all vertical format shots before posting, and so far it works.
The inevitable often happens.

You can also click on the photo in the post and it will straighten up for me. I assume it is a software glitch.

Dave Hanlon told me, turn my phone on its side to take a photo instead of upright. It seems to work for me. I had posted several that were sideways before that tip. Now I just have to remember when takeing the photo.
