Can anyone shed some light on what carburator this is? It is sitting on a 1914 Touring that I have bought

I will not see the car until Christmas, but I've seen reports that the car runs fine. I have no reasons to doubt that, I just want to learn why someone in the past have swapped the "original" Holley with this.
