What was the amount of drop on an original Mercury axle?

Looks about the bottom of the axle to the bottom of the spring perch bushing.

I thought it was 4” , Andy. Measuring mine confirmed that. I did flunk math, so you might want to double check.

The Vintage Ford July / August 1980 Page 13 has a original ad stating that the Henry Vogt drop forging lowering the body to a nine inch road clearance .Page 7 and 9 1924 Vogt Mercury script , four- inch - dropped front axles .

My mistake, I measured the axle itself which was 3 inches. The Ford axle actually drops at the fork so the effective drop will be more.

Yes 4" lowered with front axle and frame package. It is in the advertising and I own Mercury #139.
