Spare tire brace in trunk 26 coupe
Is there a brace available for the spare tire carrier that goes in the rear of the trunk on a ‘26 coupe? We bought this coupe about a month ago and the spare carrier was just bolted to the sheet metal skin on the back. I took a picture of a ‘26 roadster while we were out on our hillbilly tour in MO this month. Does anyone sell this brace, or will I need to build one?

I never found anything as far as a reproduction brace when I was doing my Runabout. If you’re looking for something close, consider A-163-ABR for the Model A.

There are at least two variations of the '26-7 Coupe rear brace. No one is going to see it. half of mine was rusted away and I had to weld the rest. It should conform to the curve of the skin or else the sheet metal will dent in once you torque down the bolts. not my photos below:
